Advertising and Public Relations
Our comprehensive program will teach you to think on a multidimensional level. You'll learn strategic planning and tactical execution in marketing, advertising, public relations, special events and sales promotion. You'll be prepared for a career in advertising, public relations, special events and sales promotion.
The department offers a number of opportunities to enhance your education. These include professional internships, independent studies, and membership in professional and student-based organizations, such as the AAF and PRSSA (advertising/public relations), Marywood Players (theatre), Marywood University Dance Ensemble (dance), and the NACB (telecommunications). The department also supports its activities through its own and campus-wide, contemporary teaching facilities.
Five-Year Bachelor’s to Master’s Option
The combined undergraduate/graduate degree is a broad-based program that covers a range of communication skills and careers. Choose from four tracks – media management, production, health communications, and corporate communications.
With lots of hands-on projects using state-of-the-art production equipment, the opportunity to work at Marywood’s WVMW-FM radio station and TV Marywood, and professional internships with local and regional media companies, you’ll be ready to hit the ground running as a communication professional – whether in television, radio, film, newspapers, advertising and public relations, or other media industry. Recent alumni are experiencing successful careers at companies like Dreamworks Studios, ESPN, MTV, and NBC.
