About me: I am a proud graduate of Marywood. I earned my bachelor’s degree in 1984 in communication arts (radio, TV and public relations) and my master’s degree in communication arts (media management) in 2007. I am active in the alumni association at Marywood and I am also the faculty adviser for the student newspaper The Wood Word. I joined the graduate admissions staff in 2006.
My interests: I love to read, listen to music…especially 70’s music. I enjoy travel. My favorite destinations are New York City and Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
My favorite thing about Marywood: The vibrant community that is the heartbeat of Marywood. The community feeling is central in the way Marywood interacts with students, staff and the local community.
My favorite place on campus: The Memorial Arch. To me, this is the doorway to the university. It is our big, stone welcome mat.
You'd never guess: In addition to my duties I am also a news announcer for a local radio station. I have worked in radio since 1983.
My best advice: Don’t wait until the last minute to start the search for a grad school program. Start the process early…the start of your junior year should give you plenty of time researching your schools of interest (Marywood obviously) and to begin the application and financial aid process. Be mindful of deadlines for applying and also scholarships/assistantships and other financial aid considerations.
