Directions for Applying for Master's or Certificate Programs

  • Submit the application form using any one of the following methods:
    1. Complete and submit our online form electronically. This form will not be processed until the application fee and confirmation receipt are received by the Admissions Office.
    2. Complete the online form, then print it out and send it to us (with fee) by mail.
    3. Print the online form, complete it off line and send it to us (with fee) by mail.
    4. Use our online Request Information form to receive a printed form among the materials sent to you by mail.
    5. Contact our office directly to request application materials.

    Required Application Materials

  • Submit official transcripts (in unopened envelopes) of all your academic work.
  • Send two letters of reference (three for School of Social Work applicants) from persons familiar with your background and work. Print two blank copies of our online reference forms or obtain printed forms from us. Have them completed, signed and returned to us. These forms cannot be submitted electronically.
  • Pay the application fee of $30 (for Fall 2007) or $35 (for Spring 2008, Summer 2008, and Fall 2008). Your application will not be processed until this fee is received. Make your check payable to Marywood University. Send it to the address listed below.

    Your complete application should be submitted at least one month before the semester of desired beginning enrollment.

Program Specific Requirements

  • Portfolio - required for applicants to the Art Department, including Art Education Certification K-12 and Art Therapy
  • Test scores - required for Speech Language Pathology (GRE General); Psychology/Counseling, Nursing Administration, and Art Therapy (GRE General or GMAT); Business/Managerial Science (GMAT)
  • Praxis I - required for all Instructional I Certifications
  • Resume - required for School Psychology Certification, Education Specialist School Pychology, and Social Work
  • TOEFL - required for international applicants
