Education: MAT in Teaching & Certification in Secondary/K-12 Education Sample Curriculum

Core Courses:

• First Semester Certification Seminar

• Field Experience (100 clock hours minimum)

• Multidisciplinary Foundations of Education

• Seminar: Psychology of Education

• Human Development

• Characteristics and Remedial Strategies for Impaired Learner

• Effective Instruction in Secondary and K-12 Education

• Student Teaching

Important to note:

• If applicants have successfully completed a course that is listed as a requirement for a specific certification (or its equivalent), it does not need to be repeated.

• Some post-baccalaureate coursework may be used toward the Masters in Education degree. Inquire with the Administrator of the Education Department to learn more about this possibility.
