Robert Petrie

Robert Petrie is serving a one-year appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice.  He received his M.ARCH degree from Cornell University, where he was recipient of the Richmond Harold Shreve Award in Architectural Design for his graduate thesis.

Rob has been in architectural practice for the past 16 years, working mainly in Washington D.C., Maryland and Syracuse, N.Y.  He has served as an Assistant Professor at Syracuse University's School of Architecture and has also taught Introductory Architectural Design at Colgate University.

His research interests include the architectural patterning of utopian ideals; the role, practice and significance of hand-constructed architectural representations, and the rise and decline of sacred architecture in America.
