For 20 years Ms. Shuman has served as a critical care nurse before start her teaching career. She continues to work in critical care at the bedside to maintain her clinical skills. Ms. Shuman has earned her B.S.N. from the College of St. Teresa in Winona, MN., and her M.S.N. from DeSales University. She is currently in the dissertation phase of her doctoral degree at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. Her doctoral topic is "Student Nurse Attitudes Toward Older Adults".
