Assistant Professor/Computer Science and Information Security

Summary of Duties

The Marywood University Department of Science, Mathematics, and Computer Science seeks an Assistant Professor (Computer Science and Information Security) for a tenure track position beginning August 2018.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include developing and teaching a broad range of undergraduate courses in computer science and information security and master’s level courses in information security. Candidates should have plans to develop courses for upper level electives in their field of expertise.  The new faculty will play a lead role in the further development of the CS and INSC programs, including the addition of a master’s degree, and also in the process of seeking ABET accreditation and the NSA/DHS cybersecurity and information assurance designation. Student advisement, commitment to scholarly activities, and participation in university, professional, and community service are expected.

Requirements

  • Educational:

    Required: Doctoral degree (by the date of appointment) in Information Security or Computer Science with a concentration in Information Security, evidence of relevant research, scholarship, and teaching experience are required.

    Preferred: Preference will be given to candidates with research expertise in areas such as operating systems, network security, digital forensics, or computer architecture. Applicants with prior college teaching experience are preferred. Prior experience with curriculum development and accreditation issues will be valued.
