Secretary - Part Time
Summary of Duties
General secretarial skills including typing, answering phone, managing office equipment, office correspondence, mail, supplies, copying, etc. Order supplies, send, and receive printing.
In working with the PhD Program Director, manage the PhD application process, coordinate review of PhD qualifying experience, coordinate dissertation and graduation processes, maintain program web pages. Maintain the office files of course syllabi, students, and faculty.
Submit room reservations and work orders. Use "Colleague" to track faculty and students as necessary. Prepare and distribute course evaluations, paperwork needed for graduation, and graduate exit survey. Assist in preparing and monitoring budget. Work with Microsoft Word and Excel. Additional responsibilities as needed.
Minimal of a high school diploma and preferable experience as a secretary or position with similar responsibilities, excellent oral communication skills and strong interpersonal and organizational abilities required.
Strong communication skills in working with faculty, staff, and students. Must be able to deal with frequent interruptions. Must also have good typing and phone skills. Familiarity with or willingness to learn Marywood's network software, such as "Colleague". Willingness to develop additional skills as needed. Eagerness to learn is key.
