Graduate Admissions Counselor

9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Summary of Duties

General Summary of Duties: Responsible for (1) Travel: Representing the University at Colleges and Universities and speaking to students and parents at special on and off campus events.  (2) Setting up appointments and tours for prospective students. (3) Communicate with prospects, applicants, and confirmed students for a specific set of academic programs. (4) Data maintenance for all aspects of the admissions funnel through various software platforms. (5) Liaison with Academic Departments:  extract enrollment data for departments on a monthly basis and forwarding to faculty; meeting on a regular basis for any updates or changes with programs; communication with faculty to ensure applications are reviewed in a timely manner. (6) Ensure the applicant submits the best documents possible for a thorough review; processing and screening application documents in a timely fashion. (7) Participate in open houses, orientation, and advisement events, including some events at satellite campuses. (8) Assist in planning special events.  (9) Other duties as assigned.


  • Educational:

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Work Experience Requirements:

    Previous experience in College Admissions preferred.

  • Special Qualifications:

    High level of intelligence, honesty,  excellent writing and public speaking skills, well-developed interpersonal skills, dedication to liberal arts and higher education, valid driver’s license, availability and use of a dependable automobile, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.  An ability to work well as a member of a team. Computer literacy required. 

  • Essential Elements:

    A fundamental concern for individuals and their families as they pertain to and fit into various educational programs.  Since this individual is one of the principal persons responsible for the projection of the public image of Marywood, the counselor plays an important role within the institution.
