Full-Time Tenure Track Faculty Position

Summary of Duties

The Marywood University Department of Nursing is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty position beginning August, 2018.  Responsibilities include providing didactic and clinical education to various levels of BSN students. Other duties include assistance and program development with simulation, student advising, university and community service, and involvement with professional nursing organizations. 

The Nursing department currently offers a BSN program with three tracks: traditional pre-licensure, RN to BSN completion, and LPN to BSN completion.  The ideal candidate will be a highly motived and self-directed educator who values teaching in a small, student-focused program of positive faculty who are committed to providing high-quality, resourceful, and innovative professional nursing education. Successful candidates also will demonstrate evidence of teaching experience, and be competent in the effective use of technology and other innovative classroom strategies.

Marywood University is a comprehensive Catholic university sponsored by the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, located in the Northeastern Pennsylvania. Requirements

  • Educational:

    Required: Candidates must have a Doctoral degree in Nursing or a related field. Qualified candidates who are ABD will be considered. Candidates must also hold a Master’s degree in Nursing and RN licensure in PA or eligible. Clinical experience in designated specialty as well as prior teaching experience are required.

     

    Preferred: Further background to teach case management, informatics, healthcare policy, or genetics content is desirable. Successful candidates also will demonstrate evidence of teaching experience, and be competent in organizational skills, the effective use of technology and other innovative classroom strategies.
