Counseling/Student Development Center
Summary of Duties
The Staff Counselor assist with provision of the counseling services and education programs of the Counseling/Student Development Center (C/SDC). The Staff Counselor is an active member of the Student Life Division team, which collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to fulfill the mission and goals of the division and of the university that include providing group mental health counseling, crisis intervention, emergency coverage, mental health assessment, consultation and outreach services to Marywood University students.
A minimum of a master’s degree in psychology counseling or related field.
Work Experience Requirements:
One to three years clinical experience required.
Licensed or license eligible in PA as counselor, social worker or psychologist.required.
Ability to collaborate with the university psychiatric staff as needed in the assessment and treatment of students with serious mental health needs. Assist with assessments of needs within the community and develop new counseling/student development services and programs.
Maintain regularly scheduled appointments with assigned clients. Be available for crisis intervention during regularly scheduled hours and share 24-hour/7 day-per-week-on-call responsibilities during the academic year. Provide weekly individual supervision to assigned graduate trainees and others as requested. Complete intake interviews as assigned. Participate in program development and implementation. Participate in New Student Orientation programs, Resident Assistant training and related activities of the Student Life Division as requested.
