35 hrs. per week, 52 weeks per year, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Employee is required to work weekend and/or Evening hours to accommodate student and recruitment events such as open house, orientation, etc.
The Associate Director of Financial Aid assists the Director of Financial Aid in overseeing a comprehensive financial aid program consisting of institutional, federal, state and private funds exceeding $35 million annually. S/he assists in planning, organizing, directing and controlling the activities of the Financial Aid office. S/he must be knowledgeable about complex regulations, and possess the ability to explain these regulations to students and parents.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Work Experience Requirements:
Approximately five years of experience in student financial aid assistance is required. Candidate must have knowledge of the federal student Direct Loan Program; and experience in utilizing electronic data exchange with the U.S. Department of Education. Experience with Ellucian Colleague system desirable.
Serves as the primary financial aid administrator in the absence of the Director of Financial Aid; Participates in administration of the financial aid and scholarship programs; Assists in coordinating the processing of applications annually; Assists in coordinating the awarding and delivery of several million dollars of federal, state, institutional, and external financial aid resources annually; Assumes responsibility for the administration of the Federal Direct Student Loan program; Promotes awareness of student aid programs and financial literacy programs through presentations, correspondence, the web site, Face Book and Twitter. Advises students and parents as well as on/off campus constituencies about financial aid opportunities, procedures, university policies and eligibility requirements for aid. Participates in recruitment events on and off campus.
