DEPARTMENT NOTES

*Educational Department Speech and Hearing Screenings for graduate and UG students will take place on Wednesday, February 7 and Thursday, February 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The screenings will be held in the McGowan Center, Room 1093 and 1092. No appointment necessary.

*UG Education Students: Sophomore Screening Packets are available for pick-up beginning January 15, 2007 in McGowan Center Room 2009.

*Scholarships for Students with Financial Need are being awarded by USA Funds. Applications and eligibility requirements are available on-line at usafunds.org. Awards for $1,500 are renewable. Deadline: February 15, 2007.

*PENNSYLVANIANS FOR HUMAN LIFE PROLIFE PRAYER BREAKFAST, ST. MARY'S CENTER, 320 MIFFLIN AVE., SCRANTON, SATURDAY, JANUARY 27, 9:00 a.m. Principal Speaker: John C. Willke, M.D., Father of The Prolife Movement in the U.S., Author of Abortion: Questions and Answers. He influenced U.S. Presidents. *Have you exhibited outstanding leadership and service to Marywood University and the community during your Freshman, Sophomore and Junior Years? If so then apply for the Kappa Gamma Pi Society's Saint Catherine Medal. Kappa Gamma Pi offers the Saint Catherine Medal to a junior student who represents the ideals of a Catholic Christian education. Applications may be picked up in Campus Ministry, Loughran Hall or Student Activities, Nazareth Student Center. Completed applications are due back to Campus Ministry no later than February 16th. If you have any questions contact Campus Ministry at 961-4723 or email battle@es.marywood.edu.

*Volunteers are needed from February 10-11 for a Girl Scout Sleepover at the Steamtown Mall. The event runs from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. and help is needed with activities, registrations, stations, set-up and tear down. A brief orientation at the council office to go over expected duties.
