Many of us use assistive technology every day when we use eyeglasses, calculators or computers - just to name a few. Below are a few more AT tools here at Marywood that can help enhance your college experience. Check them out!

American Sign Language Video Dictionary & Inflection Guide shows thousands of signs in crisp color video and links them to sentences that demonstrate how they change to convey different meanings.

APA-Style Helper Designed to provide fingertip guidance in APA style. This program gives clear and straightforward help on how to format references, headings, and more.

Co:Writer offers tools such as word prediction, grammar and vocabulary support and it partners with everyday word processing and email programs. As you finish a sentence, Co:Writer places it right into your word document or email message!

The Duxbury Braille Translator v10.4 transcribes print documents to Braille. This version has an automatic Table-of-Contents generator and a number of new languages and new embossers are supported.

Dragon Naturally Speaking is a speech recognition software program that allows you to create documents, reports, e-mails and more. This fast, easy and amazingly accurate program is over three times faster than typing. You can use your voice to dictate and edit in Microsoft Word and Excel, Corel, WordPerfect, and virtually all Windows-based applications.

HP Precision Scan Pro

Inspiration is a great tool for developing mind maps or diagrams to help you organize information, concepts and ideas. It can help you brainstorm ideas, compose your thoughts when developing a paper, or map out important points to remember from a particular lesson. It can even convert your concepts into an outline format. With several templates available, you're bound to find one to suit your needs - or you can create your own.

IntelliTools Classroom Suite, and IntelliKeys, and Overlay Maker are great tools for future educators. IntelliTools allows you to tailor specific classroom activities, IntelliKeys enables students with physical, visual, or cognitive disabilities to easily type or navigate the desktop, and Overlay Maker allows you to create a personalized keyboard.

Jaws is a screen-reading tool that works with many applications. Launch JAWS along with word processing documents, email, or the Internet and navigate through your work as JAWS reads aloud.

Kurzweil offers tools in reading, writing, and developing study skills college students need to succeed. Scan your reading materials into Kurzweil and follow along as Kurzweil reads aloud. Create study sheets using electronic highlighters, footnotes, and vocabulary tools. Extract those notes into one concise document to study. Use Kurzweil's writing aids - spelling checks, word prediction, dictionaries, etc. Kurzweil reads the Internet too!

Overlay Maker transform IntelliKeys into a customized keyboard tool and communication device. You can create an overlay to personalize a keyboard for individual preferences, such as size or color of keys. Or you can program keys for specific functionality, such as shortcuts to applications, email, or the Internet.

Read Please is a text-to-speech software for Windows based operating systems.You can chose from a variety of Microsoft voices; customize font and background colour; read text via Windows clipboard from any program (copy/paste); control reading from system tray; reads e-mail emoticons such as :) or :( ; adjust voice speed (rate); and there is also a low vision color option.

Scroll-in-Mouse designed for surfing Internet or browsing long documents. Using the trackball you will find that scrolling a document is never as easy as this method and it provides the most versatile functions you need

Web Ex Player can play back any recording that was made using Web Ex recorder (.wrf files). Player allows you to view a recorded sequence of user interactions and listen to recorded audio. A recording can reside on your computer, a server on your local network, or a website on the Internet.

Window Eyes is a screen reading program which allows access to Microsoft Windows and compatible applications through synthesized speech output. This program is designed for computer users at all levels--novice to advanced.

Write:OutLoud is an easy-to-use word processor that reads aloud as you type. It's great for those who need instant feedback when they write.

Zoom Text is a software program that enlarges text and graphics when using Windows applications. It's a great tool for those who appreciate larger print.
